Viking's Orders is for people who......like dominant Vikings who don't mind double-teaming a lady....get a kick out of Berserkers....like the tangled mythology surrounding Odin and his peeps....like guy on girl on guy action....have a thing for immortal warriors who don't mind a little bloodshed and mayhem....find it amusing when the hero threatens to spank the heroine. Repeatedly.I have a bucket full of like here. My only complaint is that we didn't get to see all that much of Vikar's bear form. It's a minor thing, overlooked by the naughty sexin' and the sheer amount of blood Vikar can spill when he's in his Berserker state. I think I have a total soft spot for Berserkers. I think I'd like to read more books with them in it.-Kelly @ Reading the ParanormalViking's Orders was a free Kindle book I downloaded on 05/02/13 for the Why Buy the Cow? reading challenge.

This book just didn't do much for me - I didn't understand a lot of it. For some reason Pure is sent to lure Vikar to San Diego and needs to determine if he can control his beserkerness. Pure is a Valkyrie and Vikar is a beserker Viking who shapeshifts into a bear. Pure is a virgin, and if she has sex she'll lose her immortality. As payment for taking her to San Diego, she promises Vikar sex - for some reason she does not want to be immortal any longer. The sex scenes were confusing - I couldn't tell what positions they were in. As a virgin, Pure takes a supposedly huge Vikar along with DP with his friend Var the first time she has sex and all goes well - I guess if we're in a fantasy world about the characters we can be in fantasyland about their sex? There were a lot of references to mythology, so maybe if I knew more about that this book would have made more sense. Sadly, it didn't. It will say the books appears to be well edited with is nice!

Had I actually read this and not listened to it, it would have been a DNF. But since I sit at a computer all day I listened through it. It sucked. I could have wasted time listening to something good but noooooo. I decided I just needed to power through it.Okay so here are the basics:Pure is a Valkyrie for Odin. She is an Ice Maiden, immortal, and a virgin. She wants free so in order to do that... She has to have sex. It gets rid of her immortality and sets her free from Odin.Vikar is a berserker, a gladiator, a mercenary for hire. He's wild and untamed and likes to f***. So what better way to get paid than sex with Pure. She loses her virginity to Vikar AND Var, another berserker. Thats all fine and dandy for an erotica. But the sex itself? Could have been steamy but it felt all over the place. One second she's under Vikar and the next she's on top and he's in her taking her virginity. Maybe my problem was listening to it but my god! This sucked.I understand the speed for short stories is a lot quicker but come on. Set a little pretense. Also, I feel like a "book" that has a Valkyrie and Berserker shouldn't be set in modern day with modern things like a motorcycle and speed boats. None of these things fit together the way it was written. We have paranormal races acting very human and it felt wrong with this setting.

Viking's Orders is a great paranormal/mythological fantasy romantica book. Pure is an ice maiden looking for an out in order to go rescue her sister from 100 years lost in a version of hell; Vikar finds himself inexplicably infatuated with Pure and fighting emotions & tendencies that bely his berserker nature. This is a story about how they come to each other...and how they react to each others' betrayals. There is a threesome scene; "deflowering"; a teensy bit of shape-shifting; and some good old Viking fighting. One of the really unique things about this story is that while it deals with mythological "characters" (Odin, Valhalla, etc...) it is a current setting (the Vikings beat the Hell's Angels for their Harleys... she mentions Mike Rowe's Dirty Jobs show... etc....). The juxtaposition of the mythology and "our" everyday life is at times surprising, as you could easily find yourself believing it to be a "historical" piece of fiction. Hot sex scenes, a HEA, what more can you want?

This book is about one of Loki's berserkers who is a Viking. He leads a group of fellow beserkers fighting around the world. Pure is one of Odin's Ice Maidens. She wants to be out of Odin's service to find her sister. Her latest assignment is to test Vikar. She bargains with him to take her to California and in return she will have sex with him and take orders while doing it. I think this book takes place in modern times but there really wasn't any world building. I know its only an 89 page book so there wouldn't be a lot but there really wasn't any. I guess I expected to understand how the vikings and Ice Maiden's fit in like Kresley Cole's IAD series. This book pretty much consisted of Vikar and Pure having sex and then deciding hey were in love. I just didn't really get interested in the Viking Beserker and Ice Maiden aspect. He could have been any kind of warrior and we were left having no idea why Pure was an Ice Maiden or really what that entailed. She came across as human and in fact Vikar thought she was.

4.5 STARS Viking's OrdersVikar is a Viking, One of Loki's berserkers! He fights alongside his fellow berserkers and together they live for every battle and to unleash their beast within. Pure is one of Odin's Ice Maiden. Trapped and desperate to get out and find her sister Pure is prepared to do whatever it takes to make it happen.Vikar is Pure's latest assignment and she plans on making it her last for Odin and finally gaining her freedom. What Pure doesn't account for is Vikar and what he awakes inside her. Pure hires Vikar to protect her and get her to where she needs to go and what she offers in return is too good for Vikar to refuse. But when they arrive and Vikar finds out the truth will what they have between them mean anything or will the secret uncovered be too much for the beast.Viking's Orders was a great short paranormal read and recommend you add it to your TBR list.

Pure, a Valkyrie and Odin's Ice Maiden, doing one last assignment all the while planning her freedom at the hands of a berserker. Vikar and Var are both berserkers set up to fight in an arena for others pleasure. Vikar and the rest of his warrior manage to gain their freedom while taking Pure along with them. Vikar and Var both demand that Pure surrender her pleasure to them completely. Can Pure keep her eye on the prize or will she fail miserably? Your answers await you in Viking's Orders.Unique story set in modern times albeit could pass for ancient times as well. I found the story intriguing and inspiring as well. I loved how bold Pure was even if she was faking it badly. Vikar is exactly like you expect in an alpha male. I will continue reading more of this author's work in the future.

Pure is one of Odin's Valkyrie's, and she is sent to test Vikar the Black's control over his beserker rage. First scene is absolutely amazing, and Beserker's are my favorite among lore. Vikar's in a pit where they force him to gladiate against other paranormal opponents. Pure is in one of the cage's as well and as he free's his comrades she pleads with him to release her as well. Offering him the only thing she has, her body. This would have got five stars but it was short, not a full novel length and obviously there is another book because she still has to find her sister. I will definitely be looking for more from this author. This was a free read off Librarything, and I thank the author for that, but it has nothing to do with my review. GREAT READ!

This was just okay. I know it was short and it was a hot little romp but I needed a tad more plot, even with the length. The virgin sex was wholly unrealistic and would have been better without the threesome. The fact that he didn't notice her virginity was extremely unrealistic, but then did the next day. Didn't work for me. The characters' thoughts were a tad inconsistent. And there were repeated words like her editor didn't catch them as well as story inconsistencies, like clothing incorrectly stated. There was no clear reason Odin wanted the berserkers tested. The story was kind of all over the place. Could have been so much better. I love Anne Marsh books but this one didn't do it for me.

This book had a good story line. I would of rated it higher if it had been proofread and edited. Too many times, the author forgot the placement of her characters and what they did or were doing. Example: "toe off your pants" which Pure did and then shortly thereafter the author has Pure's pants tangled around her legs! There were many such mistakes in this book, so that ruined the book for me. Hopefully, the next book in series is better.

DifferentA pretty decent read, but not as good as the Blue Moon series. I enjoyed the book. A little adventure, deceit, mayhem and murder...all in a days work for this viking. Then of course you throw in the bad boy, sexy, soft hearted brute and you get a winner.

Liked the blurb for this one but felt it was too short, would have probably enjoyed it more if there had been more story to it.
